Sounds like a faulty cartridge, but , to rule out the boiler, hold the hotinlet to the shower and check for temperature variations which would point to acycling boiler. If this is not the case then below is the link to thecartridge,

Sounds like a faulty cartridge, but , to rule out the boiler, hold the hot inlet to the shower and check for temperature variations which would point to a cycling boiler. If this is not the case then below is the link to the cartridge,

temperature variation 1 Answer

Q: When i set the temp on my shower to a comfortable temp the temp gradually increases to unbearable hot. The temp control knob visibly turns by itself to a hotter temp. Any suggestions please.

! Answer this question

A:  You probably need a new thermostatic cartridge or you have exceeded the max water pressure for the valve.

artisan shower running cool 1 Answer

Q: Shower running cool, other taps on same circuit also run cool, even when shower is off. Other hot taps on same circuit as shower only run hot when the shower temp. control tap is turned fully to cold. It seems that cold water runs through the shower body into the hot pipe even when the shower is off and the temp. control is ever so slightly up from fully cold.

! Answer this question

A: Carry out this check first

Regarding the temperature fluctuation it could be a faulty cartridge however to check this, see if you can get hold of the hot supply pipe before it enters the shower or perhaps as it leaves the boiler.

If when holding this pipe the temperature fluctuates then the problem is not with the shower but more likely with the boiler as the shower can only deliver what the boiler sends to it.

If the supply to the shower is OK then have a look at the check valves in the inlets to the shoawe valve and make sure that they are not sticking

! Answer this question

A: Strip the valve off the wall and check that the inlet filters are clean if they are OK then you probably need a new cartridge, here is the link.

Bristan Aristan shower mixer 1 Answer

Q: We have a Bristan artisan shower mixer (Code for model ARSHXSMFFC).

We have been experiencing problems with the shower going hot and cold and have to replace the mixer bar. We would like to know if this Artisan bar shower pictured here would fit our existing fitting. We only want to replace the mixer.

thanks

! Answer this question
The problem you describe is unlikely to be the shower itself but a supply problem, when it goes cold check the left hand feed at the back of the shower and if it is cold then it is a supply problem which a new shower will not cure.
A: If you have a combi boiler I would suggest you have it checked out.
You should also check that the shower hose is not kinked or otherwise obstructed and that the showerhead is clear and check inlet filters to mixer as a reduction in flow can cause this symptom due to boiler cycling between hot and cold.Answered 1316 days ago | Alastair
