Q: Hi I need to replace the attached cartridge but have no idea of the manufacturer or model. The current cartridge measure 38mm diameter at the base (opposite end to the tap) and from that base to the 4th seal measures 62mm. Is this the right replacement?
Thanks

A: If your Kusasi 3 has the red override button on it then it will fit. The cartridge can be found via this link provided - http://www.showerdoc.com/cross-gp0000250-crosswater-thermostatic-cartridgeIf not then, http://www.showerdoc.com/shower-spares/crosswater/cartridges/cross-sc50-t20-cartridge this is the cartridge. But to make sure remove the cartridge yoju have and compare pictures. Answered 18 days ago | Barrie

Q: Hi there
I have had my boiler replaced with a new combi bolier, so my shower is now at mains pressure whereas before it was pumped.
Since then, the water from the shower ahs been a lot cooler and more erratic (sometimes hot, sometimes cold) than previously. All other taps are fine, it's just the shower.
The plumbers think that I need a new cartridge in the shower. My questions are;
1. I am not sure of the model of my valve, but it is either a KL1500RC, or ML1500RC, or DE1500RC. Will this cartridge fit those models?
2. Do I need a special type of cartridge to deal with mains pressure hot water?
Many thanks for your help

Q: Hi - I have a KL1000RC installed, I have ordered a replacement cartridge from yourselves. Either side of the Thermostatic Cartridge are the water shut off valves.... These look like they can be unscrewed with a wrench and replaced too.... Reason: one of the brass screws that you turn in and out to shut off water doesnt turn any more and the head is now burred too much to get a good lever... If yes, you can replace them, where can i get them from ? Many Thanks

Q: Hi, we purchased a Crosswater Thermostatic cartridge from you last year on 7 February 2011 but unfortunately it has started to fail. Not sure why they do not appear to last long, our water system is new (5 years) and we have a water softener. Is it serviceable or does it come wtih a guarantee?
Look forward to hearing from you.

A: Can you first strip the cartridge out and make sure that thefilters are clear, you say that it has started to fail can you let me know whatthe problem is, can you also let me know if you are on a combi boiler or apressurised hot water system. There is no problem replacing the cartridge if it is faulty,however I am just trying to check that there is not an underlying problem thereis no point in changing the cartridge if it is not faulty. Can you please respond to my email address gt@showerdoc.co.uk Answered 123 days ago | The Doc

A: From what you say it definitely sounds like a faultycartridge I would also say that would be very unusual, I can’t think when welast had one of them back. One other thing you can try is turn the shower on to fullhot make sure it is running hot then observe the amount of flow coming from theshower head then turn the shower on to full cold and forgetting about thepressure adjust the pressure reducing valve so you get the same flow from thecold as the hot, this may take a bit of fine tuning to get it just right. If that fixes it fine, if not and you bought it from us thensend a copy of this ticket and your order details to Raymond in our returnsdepartment ray(at)showerdoc.co.uk Answered 158 days ago | The doc

Q: I have a problem with a Crosswater KL2001RC 3-hole recessed fitting which has worked fine for about 3 years in situ. For the last couple of months it delivers only cold water, regardless of the thermostat setting. I understand this can be caused by mains cold water pressure over-riding the thermostat and forcing hot water back to the boiler. Is this likely to be cured by replacing the thermostatic cartridge? Thanks.

Q: Your info says "......there are two designs for this cartridge- as shown in the photos. Due to the manufacturer you may receive either but both cartridges function in the same way. ". However the cartridge I want to replace is clearly one design and not the other (see my picture), and it looks like the other design has different thread fittings etc. Can you confirm whether they are interchangeable? If not how can I get the right one?
