Mira 8 dismantling

I am servicing a Mira 8 BIV shower, unused for 10+ yrs. All knobs move as expected but only a dribble of hot water achieved. The knobs and front plate are off but I cannot see the horseshoe washers to remove them. The piston heads are flush with the central oval brass piece. What do I do next or what have I done wrong please?

The old ones are probably just stuck in the groves in the yoke push a small screwdriver into the yoke and give it a flick they will probably pop out then
