I replaced this same part just over two years ago (August/Sept. 2009).
The reason for replacing in December was the failure of the plastic flanges which grip on to the slider rail. I think the same reason applied in respect of the earlier replacement. I hope this one will last longer.
My understanding is that New Team have come away from that design and moved to a "female" onto a circular "male" slider.
