Meynell Safemix Sm1 Thermostatic Mixing Valve

Weare having a problem at the moment with our ticketing system it is runningwords together, we have people working on it!!

Itsounds like the valve is not shutting off properly internally, a seal kitshould solve this however the kit is fairly expensive.

Yesa strip down clean and lube should help it......However take care as most ofthe parts are obsolete so if you damage anything then you may not be able toreplace it

Ifit is surface mounted then the first thing I would do is to take it off thewall and give the pipe work a flush through just to make sure that the problemisn’t there

If there is hot water getting to the valve then probably a strip down clean lube and fitting a service kit will solve the problem.

To ID the valve you just have to compare what you have with the drawings on our site

To help us id this valve we need a photo with the knobs on, the knobs and cover plate/s (if it has one) removed.

If possible but not always necessary a photo of the cartridge or part required.

The valve probably needs a strip down clean lube and a service kit fitted

However removing the knob can be an issue.

 In the first instance try a few kettles of boiling water over it, this may just expand it just enough to help it come off, you could try heat from say a gas torch however you gave to be careful not to damage the chrome, on some occasions our engineers have had to cut the knob off with a hack saw and then replace the knob.
