It is very unusual to have a problem with these.

 

The only thing I can think of is there are two oval shaped washers that sit into the face of the cartridge they are to the left of the red key in this photo http://www.showerdoc.com/mira-903-33-mira-excel-shower-valve-cartridge-903-33-spare-part

They can easily fall out or be miss aligned when fitting, I would check these are OK first.
