A: It may be your solenoid valve, you can check it if you have a multi meter, you should have a reading of at least k3.5 ohms, across the two terminals any less and you need a new valve. (Check the valve in the failed state.) (When it has stopped working!) If there is power getting to the solenoid and it is not operating then there is a good chance that you have a faulty solenoid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzJjzWqxesc The video is intended as a guide and does not cover every shower. If you don’t have a multimeter we sell them with a guide on how to use them for checking and testing the various parts of your shower. Apart from helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses and letting you know much power you have left in batteries (So you will know if they are good or not) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth a few pounds http://www.showerdoc.com/installation/electrical-products/SKYTRO-600-005-Digital-Multi-Tester http://www.showerdoc.com/shower-spares/mira/MIRA-1539-350-Mira-Flow-Regulator-Assembly-1539-350 Answered 84 days ago | Barrie

Q: Is it possible to replace the back of the shower, at the point where the water comes into the shower it is secured to the body of the shower by two screws and a u shaped bracket, the housing part has split and cannot be replaced it seems, other than this the shower is very good, it is the second one I have had and the other one had the same fault, this would appear to be a design fault, my bar pressure is half that suggested as it's maximum, can you help please.
Thank you

A: Afraid the back box is not available as a spare. In our experience the damage you have is not caused by water pressure but usually by the inlet connector not being fitted so as to fit into shower squarely without putting stress on the fitting. Answered 113 days ago | Alastair

A: The things to check first are.
1 That the main valve coming into your house is fully open.
2 Then check that the valve on the line to the shower is fully open.
If these valves are not fully open then there may not be enough water getting to your shower to open / close the safety device that allowspower through to the elements If the valves are ok thenit is likely that you need a new flow regulator http://www.showerdoc.com/MIRA-1539-350-Mira-Flow-Regulator-Assembly-1539-350 Answered 157 days ago | The doc

A: It may be a faulty element in the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can check them with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms. If you have power to the elements and no heat it's probably the elements, no power to the elements then it's probably a micro switch. If you don’t have a multimeter we sell them at £10 each with a guide on how to use them for checking and testing the various parts of your shower. Apart from helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses, letting you know much power you have left in batteries (so you know if they are dud or not) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth the £10. http://www.showerdoc.com/installation/electrical-products/SKYTRO-600-005-Digital-Multi-Tester Answered 193 days ago | The Doc

A: With the cover off check that the on/off switch is latching ok. If it is then check the cover hold on lugs and the anchors in the back casing are ak and holding the cover in place. If the bottom lug on the cover is damaged then a new cover is required. Also when fitting the cover push the bottom firmly into place and fully tighten the screw before pushing the top into place and securing as it may be the back casing is distorted slightly preventing the push button fully activating the switch. Any part(s) required can be ordered online via this link. http://www.showerdoc.com/shower-spares/mira/MIRA-PARENT-14-Mira-Play Answered 208 days ago | Alastair

Q: Hello,
I still can't get water out of my shower. I came to the conclusion that it must be the solenoid or to do with the flow regulator assembly...No it's not! I received one from you this morning, fitted it, and...I have mains pressure and power at the shower, I guess I don't have enough pressure to pump through the shower. Could there be a problem electrically? I thought, when I turn the shower on, I would here the solenoid click, but I don't here anything. Have you any ideas besides the water pressure being to low? Is there any way I could check that also, without buying a gauge? I really hope you can help! I'm starting to upset the neighbours with the smell!!!

A: Check there is a minimum of 230volts at the connector block in the shower as any less than this the solenoid valve will not open. If voltage is down then it is probably the external isolation switch that has gione high resistence and needs replaced. Check the inlet filter is clear. If above are ok then check that power is reaching the solenoid coil and if not then it is the SWitching Assy at fault and replacenent can be ordered online by clicking on this link http://www.showerdoc.com/shower-spares/mira/MIRA-1539-339-Mira-Switch-Assembly-1539-339Your water supplier will be able to advise you what the supply pressure is. A: If it is connected to the water mains as it should be then it is very unlikely that you could have an air lock. My advice would be keep trying it over the next couple of days and if it doesn’t sort its self out then give Mira a ring they will probably send out an engineer as the shower is under guarantee. It's been doing this since I used it to fill the bath when our hot tap wasn't working! It's a few years old now, do we need a new shower or is there a spare part we can have fitted?

Q: i have had this shower for just 2 years! 1month out of warranty!!!!!
used it one day, went to use it next day....but as dead as a dodo! not a drip!was working fine up till that day.
the pull cord thingy on ceiling is lighting up, but no power light on shower.
( technical words.....i am female!!!!LOL)
the main fuse box is all fine...checked each one individually and all wires are intact!
have been trawling internet and think it might be the inlet filter...or worst case...an electrical fault.
as a complete novice, yet determined person, any advice would be great:)
is it hard to clean the inlet filter yoursel????

1 That the main valve coming into your house is fully open.
2 Then check that the valve on the line to the shower is fully open.
If these valves are not fully open then there may not be enough water getting to your shower to cool it properly the overheat safety device will turn the power off until it cools Then it all starts again
Make sure that the shower head is clean and clear, that the hose isn’t kinked (this can happen just behind the hand set where it is difficult to see) also check the inside of the hose although it can look OK on the outside it could have collapsed internally
The other possibility is a faulty flow/stabilizer valve not allowing the correct amount of water into the shower, so if all the above are OK then you are going to need a new flow Regulator.

Q: Hello, I bought a Mira play shower from new and only got round to fitting it after the guarantee had ran out. The power light comes on but no water comes from it. It seems that the water is not getting to the tank. I took the diaphragm out and turned it around, then the water flowed from the shower head but believe it is bypassing the tank altogether. Would replacing the Flow regulator assembly fix this problem, do you think? I'm dying to be able to use it. Hope you can help me with this problem.
Yours
Hopefully

The fact that it is now cold could be one of two things. I think you may have a faulty Thermal Cut Out
A faulty TCO will have no continuity across the two terminals (The black thing on top of the heating tank)
Therefore a good TCO will have power at both connections and a faulty TCO will have power at only one.
(The function of the TCO is, if the water over heats it cuts the power off to the elements) See Video. http://www.youtube.com/user/showerdoc#p/u/2/_zi8JbEMYMs Or It may be a faulty element in the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can check them with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms.
