A: As an afterthought it could be that the motor and pump unitare running at the wrong frequency perhaps you could get the electrician tohave a look at that. Answered 39 days ago | The Doc A: I don’t think that the problem is with the shower more likelywith the power supply, for safety I would get an electrician to have a look atit. A: This fault is normally caused by the paddles at the top of theflow valve not lining up correctly with the switching assembly. There small locating pins in the case that the switchingassembly should fit on to, just slacken the flow valve and switching assemblyoff, give them a wiggle and you may feel them drop into place Answered 214 days ago | The Doc

A: Definitely not the TCO below is how to check the tank. It may be a faulty element in the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can check them with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms. If you have power to the elements and no heat it's probably the elements, no power to the elements then it's probably a micro switch. If you don’t have a multimeter we sell them at £10 each with a guide on how to use them for checking and testing the various parts of your shower. Apart from helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses, letting you know much power you have left in batteries (so you know if they are dud or not) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth the £10. http://www.showerdoc.com/installation/electrical-products/SKYTRO-600-005-Digital-Multi-Tester Answered 382 days ago | The doc

Q: Dear sirs, I am replacing the flow valve assy. pt no. 1563.507. Your web site warns that I must also order pt n's 1563.509 and 1563.514.for pre 2005 elite 2 models. Why is this? Is it not possible to just replace 1563.507 on its own. If I need to order these additional parts as well it is hardly worth while repairing the unit costwise, and it would be better to purchase a new one

A: The pump noise should remain roughly the same regardless of the power setting. If there is no difference in temp when you change the power settings it may be a faulty element in the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can check them with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms. A: If the water is absolutely cold then I think you may have a faulty Thermal Cut Out
A faulty TCO will have no continuity across the two terminals (The black thing on top of the heating tank)
Therefore a good TCO will have power at both connections and a faulty TCO will have power at only one.
(The function of the TCO is, if the water over heats it cuts the power off to the elements) See Video. http://www.youtube.com/user/showerdoc#p/u/2/_zi8JbEMYMs Answered 553 days ago | The Doc

Q: No water flow. Inlet water supply is fine. Filter is clean. The flow valve is not opening. I can manually open the valve and then water flows. What causes the flow valve not to open? Could this be a symptom of a pump problem? Does the flow valve operate by pressure or is it electrically started?

Q: Over the last two weeks When I switch on my shower unit it would heat up just fine but after a minute or two it would go cold for about a minute or so and would continue going hot and cold while one is showering, This is without making any adjustments to the controls, Note: that the water pressure does not vary and there is a good water flow. But now when I switch on the unit it does not heat the water at all, I have made adjusted the temperature & flow switches up and down and still no change in water temperature, Please can you advise which parts I will need to fix this problem. Thank You

A: The things to check first are.
1 That the main valve coming into your house is fully open.
2 Then check that the valve on the line to the shower is fully open.
If these valves are not fully open then there may not be enough water getting to your shower to cool it properly the overheat safety device will turn the power off until it cools Then it all starts again
Make sure that the shower head is clean and clear, that the hose isn’t kinked (this can happen just behind the hand set where it is difficult to see) also check the inside of the hose although it can look OK on the outside it could have collapsed internally
If the shower is completely cold and there is no heat at any time then you may have a faulty Thermal Cut Out
A faulty TCO will have no continuity across the two terminals (The black thing on top of the heating tank)
Therefore a good TCO will have power at both connections and a faulty TCO will have power at only one.
(The function of the TCO is, if the water over heats it cuts the power off to the elements) See Video. http://www.youtube.com/user/showerdoc#p/u/2/_zi8JbEMYMs Answered 686 days ago | The Doc

Q: There is no power light coming on my Mira Elite 2 shower. Can you help diagnose the problem? The power is getting to the shower but the shower is not functioning at all and the power light is not on. Is it likely to be the power light bulb, if blown cuts off supply; a faulty power switch or the solenoid? If the solenoid is faulty then would the power light be off. All help greatefully received. A: The power indicator should come on as soon as power is fed to the shower and if the led has failed it will have no effect on the operation of the unit. The first thing to do is to check what power is reaching the shower by checkiing voltage at connector block in shower. It should be a minimum of 230volts. Answered 693 days ago | Alastair
