A: Strange!
Couldsomething inside the valve be sticking?
Thefirst thing that comes to mind is you mention that the water is very hot if thewater temperature is over 65°Cthis will wash the silicon lubricant off theparts.
Thepart that is important to grease is the piston not the thermostat (just to makesure that we are talking about the correct/same part)
Myonly other thought is when it is not running hot in the morning can you gethold of the inlet pipe on the hot side of the valve and feel what thetemperature of that pipe is?
