Works in my t100xr shower, but it doesn't appear to be quite as good quality plastic as the original part it replaced.
This is the second time I have replaced this part, the second time being only a few weeks after the first replacement. I'm not sure if this means that the part is of inferior quality or whether I have a bigger problem with the shower (unlikely as I have replaced the shower head and hose at the same time).

The PRD supplied is a genuine product from the manufacturer and to our knowledge have not changed in any way.
If the PRD device is a saftey device for the shower is only activated activated if there is a problem with the shower and it could be down to one of the following:
Shower head is blocked
The inner of the hose has collapsed
The hose was kinked whilst showering
The head and hose have been changed to a non manuafcturer product
You have underlying issues in the shower causing the PRD to activate

The product is a very small pipe with a rubber washer and a little rubber ball in it. The ball pops out if the water pressure gets too high.
This happens if you don't clean the shower head or you get a spike in the water pressure mains.
Very easy to fit though. Just 2 small screws. For safety, don't forget to switch off the electricity !

Expensive for what it is, a small piece of plastic but the shower won't work without it. It is however very easy to fit yourself, so no need for a plumber.

Overpriced product. Why don't you just supply the 'ball' that disolves when the pressure/ temperature reaches a certain limit? This would be much more eco friendly!!!!!!!

The PRD is a saftey device for a shower and is normally activated if your shower has underlying issues or a burst of water pressure to the unit. see our product page for the 82800450 for reasons of activation.
The ball is not a product supplied by the manufacturer and they dont recommend fitting this part. Once the ball has been activated and forced out of the casing its supplied in, then a new PRD should be fitted. If you choose to fit just a universal rubber ball and its not the correct size then it may not ease out when the pressure gets above the recommended pressure causing more problems for your shower. EG: blown heating can... Remember the PRD is a saftey device for your shower and not fitting manufacturer products can void any warranty on your shower.

I am very happy with Showerdoc. The order was delivered on time. After searching the Web for the reason my shower was pouring water out of the over flow pipe, the Shower Doctor website was the best for advice plus purchasing the part was really easy, the part was delivered the following day and this came with instructions on how to fit, these were clear and concise and as such my shower is back working normally.

My purchase experience of the Triton Pressure Relief Device was excellent. I used the internet for a problem diagnosis and then placed an order for the unit on the Showerdoc website. The unit arrived on day 3 and had detailed installation instructions. The shower unit is now working satisfactorily.

Generally Ok at present. This is the second PRD we've ordered since April. They are very temperamental and once they are "released" the shower is effectively broken.

The PRD is a saftey device and its purpose is to active and blow when there is a vproblem within the shower unit or the water pressure, this is not a spares part that goes faulty.
If this is the second PRD since april then you may find that you have a problem with the shower causing it to activate each time.
The reason the PRD usually activates can be down toy one of the following:
The shower head is blocked and needs cleaned.
The shower hose was kinked whilst showering.
The shower hose inner has collapsed.
The shower head or hose has been changed to a non maufacturer product.
There has been a burst of pressure to the shower or maintenance form the water board in your area.
I would check all of the above before it activates agin to be sure.

From finding the product on line with The Shower Doctor to sending a query, placing the order and then quick delivery I have to say its been an excellent service.
