A: The Can and Stab valve are not directly connected in any way that one should cause the other to become faulty.
I do have some concern that you are now effectively looking at the third can in 6 years.
Do you have a good flow through the shower when on full cold?
Can you check that the valve coming in to your house and the valve on the line to the shower are fully open?
Do you have a problem with lime scale?
Of course.......You could have just been unlucky
