A: It sounds like you have a loose connection either to the motor or the pcb. I would have this checked  first.

A: It would appear that it could indeed be the carbon brushes that cause this TV and radio problem.. Replacing them may be the quickest answer. As far as the flow is concerned it may be the assembly in the link below,

A: Check the inlet filters are clear.
If they are ok then it is likely to be the motor/pump assembly at fault and as this is no longer available then a new shower is required , the Triton AS2000XT is an almost direct swap and can be ordered online by clicking on the link below.

A: Yes water consumption is virtually identical

A: 

This fault can be caused by a faulty PCB however it is more often caused by the motor being faulty.

 

As you don’t mention it’s approximate age it is difficult to judge whether it is better to replace it or repair it

Difficult one without being able to see it could be a fault with the potentiometer on the front cover (not switching off properly ) or with the PCB or indeed with the alignment with the knobs not centering exactly where they should be

If you have the non thermostatic version it may also be advisable to fit a new flow valve, on occasions parts of the flow valve disintegrate  these parts get caught in the solenoid and this is what causes it not to shut dow
