Bristan 1500-XT - sometimes fails to start

Recently my 1500-XT has not always started when switched on. I thought it was the solenoid valve and have replaced this (bought from Shower Doctor), but it still does not switch on reliably. It is more likely to start if I press both buttons, then switch on the main switch last. When it runs it sounds and performs fine. It has stopped mid flow once today - switching off main switch and then on again got it going.

Switching off mod flow would tend to be the solenoid but you have replaced that!

you say it runs fine when it is working therefore that suggests that the motor and pump unit are fine which leaves the switches so have a careful look at them and see if there is any signs of overheating the other place I would check is the isolating switch make sure that the neutral wire is fully tight and that there is no signs of overheating.

Thanks for the advice which was quite right!

The master switch connections were loose - now tightened and have had no further problems. Could have saved myself the effort of changing the solenoid valve if I had checked this first!

Check the electrical connections to the shower and if these are ok then you may have a faulty switch or motor.
