Showerforce 1500-XT no water coming out

Today my shower died mid-shower - the pump is still running, but there is no water coming out. If I switch off the pump (ie. in to gravity fed mode) I can hear a buzzing but still no water coming. Is a broken solenoid the most likely issue? If it is the solenoid, your video seems to think sometimes replacing the solenoid alone is easiest, sometimes replacing the solenoid+valve unit is safest. Any comments on which is true for this model? TIA!

From your inscription the solenoid coil alone should solve the problem.

Hi George,

Thanks. To complicate things, the problem appears to be intermittent - when it broke it remained broken for half an hour or so. After that it seemed to be working, and hasn't broken since..

I've measured the solenoid resistance and it was in the right ball park (3.6k if I recall) - but I've only been able to test it while the thing is (temporarily) working. I've tried pushing the contacts in all directions but that has no impact on the resistance.

So - is it still likely to be the solenoid? Is it common to get an intermittent problem with solenoids?

Cheers,
Anthony
