Gainsborough 9.5 SE Electric Shower

It depends where the shower is leaking from, you will have toswitch of the power and have  a lookinside.

If it is leaking from any where else then you will have toreplace the engine.

I think you may have a faulty Thermal Cut Out

A faulty TCO will have no continuity across the two terminals (The black thing on top of the heating tank)

Therefore a good TCO will have power at both connections and a faulty TCO will have power at only one.

(The function of the TCO is, if the water over heats it cuts the power off to the elements)

Un fortunately with the Gainsborough this part is not replaceable you are going to need a new engine.

This may be leaking from the pressure relief device which is at the rear of the outlet pipe.

Switch of the power remove the cover have a look and see.

The colder the incoming water temperature the cooler the shower, however if   the shower is un acceptably cold then you may have a faulty element, as it is only 3 months old I would get back in touch with Gainsborough.

Cover has changed but the internals are the same as this

Triton has recently brought out the T80Z this shower has been designed round being a retrofit unit (Tritons word not mine!)

The pipe work can be brought in from almost any position and there is a reasonable amount of space for cable entry from most positions.

The fault is probably a faulty TCO however the only serviceable part for this is the Pressure Relief Device the other option is to fit a new engine, or replace the unit.

Here is a link to the current Gainsborough showers, the square shaped showers although they look different the screw holes, pipe and cable connections are the same as the older units.
