Pump not always operating.

The motor doesn't always start unless banged or shaken. When it does start it runs fine. Obviously the casing gets hot when it fails to start. I suspect the brushes in the motor or possibly the bearings. I remember an old central heating pump that did the same and I had to replace that. The pump is about 4 years old.

You shouldn’t be having problems with this pump if it is only 4 years old.

Are you sure that there is sufficient flow through the pump to start it ?

It doesn’t have brushes so it can’t be them, could something have got into the pump that could be causing it to stick?
