No light on panel in shower and shower not working

After we have all showered in the morning I turn the shower off using the pull cord. Next time I turn it on the shower goes through it's initialisation process and and I can hear that happening the lights flash on the panel in the shower as well. This is normal and has done it ever since I have owned it.

Now when I use the pull cord nothing happens. No noise in the loft and none of the lights come on the panel in the shower. The resistances are correct on the heating elements and the thermal cut out. I have had them fail before and the lights stay on and/or it blows the trip. I seem to have some voltage going down the remote cable to the panel but i don't know what they should be. I have replaced the solenoid and that hasn't made any difference. There is power going into the shower and to the heating tank. Any idea what to check next.

I would check the pull cord switch, you could have a faulty neutral in the switch, this would show you having power at the shower but as soon as you draw any current the neutral will fail.
