Heatrae Sadia plus replacement

Reviewed 11 years ago by Mr Colin Paterson
I bought this as a replacement for a Heatrae Sadia Plus as it was suggested as being suitable. A previous poster had stated he only had to drill an additional hole to secure the unit. My experience was slightly different. I had to extend the pipe work and drill both holes to cover the old footprint of the Sadia. I extended the pipe work by fitting a check valve (as recommended) and drilling the holes was hardly a problem. I only mention it so you will know that you may need additional bits/work to fit the unit, it’s not a direct replacement. A couple of small points, the instructions tell you to fit the cover before putting the water on. I had a bit of bother fitting the lower section of the cover and on turning on the water found that I had not tightened the compression fitting enough. Consequentially I had to remove the cover and tighten the fitting and then had the struggle with the lower section again. I suggest you check the water works before fitting the cover, you don’t have the power on at this point so there is no danger, you are only checking your compression fitting is water tight. I don’t know why I had bother with the lower section of the cover, just found it a bit fiddly to get the screw to locate inside.

Once fitted I found the shower to be better than the Sadia it replaced, and would recommend it as a replacement taking into account my comments above.
