Adjusting the water temperature

I wish to increase the temperature of the water coming from the shower. There are two sturdy brass supply pipes coming from the cavity wall into a brass fitting to which the control is attached. Similar to your picture but not quite the same. There is just one flat brass but on the top of the fitting. How do I adjust the flow to get the outflow warmer. The fitting could be about 10years old max Thanks Mike
