Active 320

Red light does not come on hence no hot water -shower probably 6 years old Can you help?

First thing to check is that you are getting power to the shower. For this you will need a multi meter.

If you don’t have a multimeter we sell them at £10 each with a guide on how to use them for checking and testing the various parts of your shower.

Apart from helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses, letting you know much power you have left in batteries

(so you know if they are dud or not) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth the £10.

If there is no power then you need to check the ceiling/ wall switch or the fuse/ mcb.

If you are still not sure, now is the time to call in a professional.

The neon not coming on can indicate a failure of 1 part of the 2 stage heating element.If the shower runs a little "warm" rather than cold then its likely one stage of the immersion element has failed.It is integrated into hot tank and is not cost effective to replace.It is also possible one of the micoswitches has failed or even the plastic "cam" it fixes to has cracked.Microswitches are available but the "cam" is not.
