Replacement Aqualisa Aquatique - Replacement Cartridge

We have a dripping shower control and have purchased a replacement cartridge but 2 of the holding screws will not come out they just keep turning. Should all 4 screws come out? Is there a simple way or special technique to remove them?

If the screws keep on turning, then they maybe into brass inserts in the body which have come away. If this is the case then you will have a problem removing them, and even if you can, you may have a problem creating a good seal when fitting the new cartridge.
