Aqualisa intermittant on/off

Hi my Aqualisa Aquavalve 609 power shower works intermittently when I turn the on/off control knob(sometimes the pump doesn't turn on). How do I know if it is the microswitch or the cartridge that is faulty? Also how do I replace either?

I presume that this valve has a separate/remote pump? You don’t mention the make and model.

The first thing to check is the inlet filters on the pump then make sure that the shower head is clean and clear, that the hose isn’t kinked (this can happen just behind the hand set where it is difficult to see) also check the inside of the hose although it can look OK on the outside it could have collapsed internally

If all of these are OK then you may have a problem with your flow switches or the pump may just be getting old.

If you still have a problem after carrying out the checks above please send uc the details of your pump or a couple of photos.
