This should just be held on by the friction of the rubber grommet and therefore should just pull forward.

However................

They were often stuck back with silicone if that is the case you will need a knife with a long blade (The snap off blade type is best)slip it down between the plate and the wall and start cutting. This can take some time depending on the amount of silicone that is at the back of the wall plate
