This question is regarding Aqualisa 1.5m Conical-to-Straight Steel Shower Hose (Chrome) - 164516

Shower hose width

Hi - I've tried two different hoses so far and although both fit they water is leaking at the wall through a small overflow hole in the bottom of the control. Speaking to Screwfit they reckoned the bore on the hoses I'd bought wasn't wide enough to cope with the water flow from the power shower. This hose looks identical to my current one but would you have an idea of the width of the bore. I've tried 11mm and 13mm ones so far. Thanks very much.

Well Screw fix are plain and simply wrong!

You don't mention the make or model of your shower, can you send us some photos and one of where this is leaking from.

Hi - thank you very much for the reply.

I attach two photos - the first of the shower cartridge and the second from underneath showing where the hose joins the cartridge and the small hole from which water leaks when I attach the replacement hoses.

It is unlikely to be the hose that is leaking, more likely the cartridge or fittings from this, see below,

The bore on the hoses are about 11mm.

I don't disagree but the current hose doesn't leak it is just that the metal cover is unwinding.

When it is attached there is no leak from the shower cartridge.

It is only when I try to attach a replacement hose that we see leakage, either from around the connection or from the small hole underneath as per picture.

If it is leaking from then hole then it is almost certainly the cartridge, if it is leaking from where the hose joins the valve then try fitting two washers or perhaps even three it is possible that the end of the hose is not grounding out properly.
