Hydramax Shower

We had a new thermostatic valve installed approx 3 mths ago. But, the piece appears to have broken again as when we turn the silver knob - it just turns and no water comes out. The contact between the knob and the little grey piece inside the unit do not appear to be 'gripping' each other to enable the water to be switched on. Surely I don't have to spend another £100 or so on another new valve??? Can you help me please? I would be so very grateful. Thank you.

There should be a very small "O" ring on the spline of the cartridge, it comes supplied with the cartridge extras. If this is not on then this can cause the problem discribed.
