Aquavalve 200/400

Hi, I have an Aquavalve 200/400 (pink) with combi boiler. The shower head drips when off, but a hard turn of a couple of mm stops it. Could you advise if this will worsen and what needs to be done to resolve please?

Many thanks

It needs a new cartridge, whichcomes with instructions

You will have to find out whichcartridge you have.

Pink for a combi or multipoint andgrey any system with balanced (equal) pressures.

Remove the on/off knob should justpull forward however it can be a bit of a bu**er then remove the 4 screws thathold the temperature knob in place, remove the temperature knob and then youwill see the colour of your cartridge.

If you already have the cartridgeand want to carry on and replace it you will have to turn the water off to theshower.

Then remove the cartridge you willneed to remove the 4large screws at the side of the cartridge these haveposidrive or ‘Torx’ T25heads depending on there age.

Pull the cartridge forward toremove.

Before fitting the new cartridgeyou should replace the small ‘O’ ring at the rear of the body this is anotherbu**er to change……(something like a crochet hook or the sort of thing thatdentists usewill help)

It is not always necessary toreplace this ring however if there any problems with the cartridge, the firstquestion you will be asked is did you replace the ‘O ring? if the answer is no!then you will be told to phone back once it has been replaced.

When you refit the cartridge makesure that the slot,(usually on the right of the body ) the gasket and the bodyall line up properly then re tighten the screws.

On the older versions you have toreuse the original brass screws if you have this type be careful not to overtighten the screws because the brass inserts in the body may split, on a fewoccasions you may find they have split when you remove the old cartridge if thishappens then you will probably have to replace the body.

Refit the temperature control knob(new screws supplied) the fit the on / off knob, turn the water back on andcheck for leaks, if everything is OK remove clothes and have ashower!!!

The cartridges are listed herehttp://www.showerdoc.com/aqual-parent-6-aqualisa-classic-aquavalve-200-thermostatic---400-manual
