O-ring (again)

Thanks for answering my previous question so quickly.

There was something black inside the hot-water input, but it was so solid (I tried prising it out with a needle), and flush with the housing I didn't think it could be the o-ring (see attached picture).

I don't believe the leak can be from a badly seated gasket as I've removed & replaced both my the new and old cartridges at least a dozen times. I can't see any brass inserts (although it is an 'old style' body, dating from about 1995). Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes you have ID’d the ‘O’ ring they can become hard with age....The reason for having to replace them.

Now the bad news....

The leak is coming from the seal between the brass body ofthe tap and the plastic insert that holds the cartridge.

The plastic insert is inserted by a machine, at one time youcould send the tap away and have a new insert, inserted unfortunately Aqualisano longer offer this service, and to my knowledge there is no way to fix thisleak.
