Slight drip from shower control

Just had a combi boiler fitted and noticed a slight drip from my 600 Thermo shower. To replace the cartridge I will isolate the cold water supply, but how does this affect the combi boiler? Do I have to switch it off and will it drain as well or is this seperate and it won't send water through the shower?

Turning off the mains water will stop the boiler (hot water) and shut of the cold to the shower. Putting on the shower and getting no water will confirm this.
