Occasional shower start issues

Hi, I've read through some of the other questions and think our problem might be the push button but would like you to confirm. Press the start button, light on, water on, then off again after 1 second. Keep pressing and eventually it will stay on and work continuously throughout for as long as you want with no issues. Seems to be just the initial latching of the start button so would you agree I need a front cover assembly rather than a new solenoid/engine etc? Thanks.

I agree with your diagnoses however the front cover is just the button the actual latching switch part is part of the engine so unfortunately it looks like you need a new engine.
