This question is regarding Aqualisa Grey Gravity/Pumped Thermostatic Cartridge with Gasket - 022801

I have a constant drip coming from the control knob. I noticed that a black coloured plastic circular ring about 1mm in depth, has a crack in it. I don't know if this is what's causing the leak?? Can you offer any advice?

It is unlikely the , www.showerdoc.com/aqualisa-gasket-with-filter-213019 that is causing a leak from the control knob , more likely the cartridge is faulty.
