Aqualisa Type 1.5 Shower Pump

I have a 13 year old pump (H Max 2.3 bars) used every day that has started to leak from the right hand side. I would like to buy an identical used pump on ebay which is said to be without any leaks but my plumber is saying that unused pumps disconnected for a long time (7 mths) can develop leaks around the seals. Is this true because the used pump is much cheaper than a new one - £40 vs £180?

Yes , your plumber is correct , the seals dry out and can cause leaks.

Thank you for the quick response. If that is the case can they be repaired if the motor and all other seals are ok or are modern pumps not repairable? Also, are seals expensive to repair? Thank you in advance.

As far as I know there are no replacement seals for this pump, so a new one will be needed.
