Turn the shower temperature control from fully cold to fully hot. When you do this slowly there should be a gradual change in temperature and flow. At fully hot you should have not much more than a dribble coming from the hose, and on fully cold you should have a good strong flow. If you do not have this difference, or the flow or temperature is erratic,  then you may have a faulty flow/stabilizer valve.

I have an Aquatron over-sink water heater (effectively a shower unit). When the water control knob is turned on, water pours out of the overflow pipe and reduces the flow from the tap. Any ideas why this might be happening. Can it be rectified? Any help welcomed.
