Supamix shower centers

the questions and answers already given are relevant to my query but I do not know what is meant by the pipe centres. From the exploded view it appears there are three pipes that fit the unit. Can you explain further please.

The three pipes are the hot and cold inlets and the mixed water outlet  (The outlet is always in the middle)

So when someone refers to the pipe centers they mean from the centre of the hot to the centre of the cold.

The standard now is 150mm but 120mm too 180mm is fairly common, some of the older showers have centers as small as 100mm.
