Ah, the humble bathroom - long may it reign.
Forever part of our daily routine, it's a place of relaxation and welcome solitude. A place to freshen up and unwind.
However, it's unlikely you'd normally associate the bathroom with feelings of terror or high drama - yet for some reason, this part of our house has been immortalised time and again on the silver screen as the venue for exactly those sorts of emotions.
Perhaps film-makers see an opportunity to inject a bit of excitement into an environment where you might normally not expect it. Or perhaps it's more to do with the fact the bathroom is somewhere we can all associate with.
Either way, some of the most memorable movie moments of all time have been set here - as our new Iconic Bathroom Movie Scenes Infographic reminds us.
Shower scenes
As you might expect, we're big fans of anything that draws attention to a person's shower and arguably one of the most famous points in a film of all time - in and outside of the bathroom - is Psycho.
This scene changed the way we think about film and is still talked about by students of the industry to this day.
It's so famous that you're likely to be aware of it even if you've never even seen the film and has been parodied on countless occasions since its release in 1960.
What it also emphasises is that not all shower scenes have to be rude. On the contrary, none of our top movie suggestions on the infographic actually contain nudity!
How scary is your bathroom?
Psycho isn't the only terrifying bathroom moment on our list - if you've ever watched A Nightmare on Elm Street, you'll know what we're talking about.
But how scary is your bathroom? Is it in need of a severe makeover? Maybe you've not given it enough attention over the years and it represents more of a history documentary or comedy than a feel-good film?
If your bathroom is in need of an update, then why not check out some fresh ideas on decorating via our blog. Alternatively, if you already know what you're after, take a look at what's available in our store.
