Fitting a replacement cartridge.

I recently purchased a new D282-027 cartridge for my Bristan1901 shower as the temperature control had ceased to work. However although the old piston came out relatively easily I cannot get the new piston back into the housing. I have used si;icon grease on both the O-ring and the piston barrel but despite applying considerable pressure the piston will not go past the original O-ring. Any suggestions?

Can you send us a photo of your shower and your existing cartridge.

1901 is a range of showers so we just need to check which one you have.

The specific shower model no. is N2 SHCVO C/G. Let me know if you still need a photo of the shower. Photo of replacement cartridge attached. Please note that the cartidge . thermostat and spring are new but the piston is the original. Unfortunately I broke the new one in my efforts to insert it so this is the one that came out but won't go back.

Did you get my message giving the precise model n. and attachment? I haven't seen a response hence my asking

All I can think of is part of the old piston is still in the valve.

This is a very standard piston used by a number of manufacturers and should with a little bit of wiggling slip into the valve.
