B95 tripping out at fuse box

My Bristan B95 keeps tripping out its fuse in the fuse box, when reset the shower does work and will trip out again about 5 minutes after turning it off.

This sounds like the element has blown or you have an issues with the fuse supplying the shower. How did the shower stop working? did you hear a bang or any black water coming out of the shower?

Thanks for your reply Liam. There was no bang or black water, the shower does still work when you reset the trip switch for it, once you have finished using the shower it will then trip the switch in the fuse box again within 5 minutes. We have had an electrician out to look at the fuse box and the power supply to the shower, and found no issues, the suggestion was that is is some kind of fault with the unit its self, but as he was an electrician and not a plumber he was unwilling to look at it.

It may be a faulty element in the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can check them with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms.

If you have power to the elements and no heat it's probably the elements, no power to the elements then it's probably a micro switch.

If you don’t have a multimeter we sell them at £10 each with a guide on how to use them for checking and testing the various parts of your shower.

Apart from helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses, letting you know much power you have left in batteries

(so you know if they are dud or not) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth the money.

The problem may also be caused by a faulty pcb.
