Its the cartridge that Bristan told me to get for my 15 year old quarter turn Bristan 1901 shower when we started only getting lukewarm water. I could not manage to fit it by myself, I had to get a plumber in to do it. The previous cartridge had split in two inside the shower unit. It took 2 hours to change the cartridge. If you don't know what you are doing then don't bother trying. The circlip broke on removal of the first cartridge, and there was no spare circlip. Unfortunately for me it did not fix the problem, and I was subsequently told by Bristan that instead of needing to change the cartridge, it was the elbows that had needed changing. I would recommend you do both at the same time to be on the safe side. Shower Doctor had the best price on this cartridge, to buy from Bristan would have been £142.
