Bristan Cartridge CART 06732COMPL and Valve Cd - VLV 04070TER-OF

After my Bristan Pisa shower sprung a leak this morning I removed the cartridge. I'd previously replaced the seals (approx. 3 years ago) and was very confident it was a CART 06732COMPL, but today when I removed it to examine for damage I noticed there was only a spline end at one end, not two (see photo attached). After looking further, it appears that the spline from the CD valve end has snapped off and is stuck in the socket of the back wall plate (see photo attached). Reluctantly accepting I probably need to buy a new cartridge, or worse, a new shower (gulp!), I've failed to pull this spline out using long-nose plyers through the cartridge chamber and so want to get closer with a pair of Vise grips with more leverage on it, but suspect I need to remove the whole cartridge chamber from the inlet pipes to do this? There's also two small screws at the bottom which I think I'd probably need to remove too? Any assistance greatfully received.

Looks like you have tried to unscrew this cartridge, unfortunately it is just a pull out and the stud has sheared off.

Unless you can get this out you are going to need a new shower.

Many have tried to get these out and failed.

Two possibilities, one, drill down the centre of the stud and then using an easy out pull the stud out, (I know of one person that this worked for!)

The other thought is drill a hole through the rear of the housing punch the stud out then try brazing over the drill hole.
