Lukewarm & unscrewed instead of pulled!

Shower temp was Luke warm and was advised it was easy to replace the cartridge. So attempted the removal by unscrewing the cartridge. The End of the CD valve is still stuck in - any tips on removing it as its set back in the wall, too far back for pliers.

Also, will the CD valve bring back hot water?

This cartridge does not unscrew but pulls straight out. If you rescrew the cartridge into the shower and catch the CD valve you will then be able to pull the cartridge out. It may be a good idea to remove the ""O"" rings on the old cartridge before this as it will make it easier to pull out.
