Colonial or Cardinal cartridge

I thought I had a Cardinal shower and bought a 1500 service kit. When I removed the cartridge I found that the body resembles the one in the Colonial but the spring and piston are as in the Cardinal as shown in your video on servicing the 1500 valve. If I manage to dismantle the valve body (see my review of the 1500 kit) will the seals from the 1500 kit be compatible with the Colonial cartridge and if I decide to buy the whole Colonial cartridge will it accept the piston Assembly, thermostat and spring from my existing valve?

This is the seal kit for the Colonial, (1200) which is different to the 1500

The 1500-3 http://www.showerdoc.com/sirrus-thermostat-and-piston-sk1500-3 is pretty much universal across a range of valves and is a sub assembly why they show it as a broken down component is a mystery!

In any case it will fit your shower.
