Problems after fitting new cartridge

I have finally got my old cartridge out and replaced it with the new one I purchased from yourselves. I now have two problems with the mix of water. There is not much variation of temperature and the temperature fluctuates. I put it down to the results of the two tests. 1. The shower goes very hot very soon after turning the knobs. Using the isolation valves to turn off the hot water I can see that the cold water comes on as I turn the shower on but this stops completely after quarter of a turn of the control knob. It stops even more sudden if I test after a shower. 2. The same test just using hot water has the hot coming on, before stopping completely after running for a while in the first quarter turn, I guess due to the thermostat, resuming again only when the knob is turned up past the quarter turn. Do you think I have installed it incorrectly? Thanks Nigel.

Make sure the parts are fitted correctly. The above videos should help.

If all is fine then you may have the hot water too high.
It should be no more than 60 degrees C.
