cartridge or seal kit

Hi A leaking shower head has become a very leaky shower head and the temp control handle has become very stiff to turn off. I was wondering if this was down to the seals having failed or the cartridge seizing up, any advice/experience appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Barrie, thanks for replying. I think I'll risk a tenner on the seal kit. The shower has been in busy use for four years and it feels like it would if a seal had worn away and it is now metal on metal.
Dismantling it will be the next challenge, I may be back (here)! Cheers.

Changing the seals or the whole cartridge should solve this problem.
