Strip Down

Hi,

I have a sirrus ts1850 antique and have been using it at home since around 2002.

I have bought an oring kit as it is now leaking but I am having trouble dismantling it. I have removed any visible grub screws and fastenings but the chassis seems stuck together and the thermostat seems to go through a press fit not the spline I can see in this part. Has it been changed? and can you give dismantling instructions with your seal kits.

Sorry we don’t have instructions for this exploded diagram http://www.showerdoc.com/shower-spares/sirrus-by-gummers/GUM-PARENT-47-Sirrus-Ts-1850-Antique

I am not sure how far you have got stripping it down, however once you remove the knobs levers and covers you should see a large brass nut all you need to do is unscrew this, watch because the thermostat piston and spring are behind the cartridge  just be aware of their order and orientation as they come out so that you get them back the same way.

When you have the cartridge out there is a circlip that sits on top of the brass nut once you remove this the cartridge should dissemble fairly easily.

My advice is to take photos as you go they can be invaluable when it comes to reassembling

This is a slightly better quality diagram of the internal components of the valve http://www.showerdoc.com/shower-spares/sirrus-by-gummers/GUM-PARENT-14-Sirrus-1850---1850-Dual-Shower-Valve
