Part 41 Slotted screw head
Parts 39 and 40 may or may not have been fitted, however they should be a flow restrictor and a check valve, make sure that the restrictor isn’t blocked and that the check valve hasn’t collapsed, if it collapses then it will block the water flow.
The other option is to remove the cartridge and give the valve a flush out, see below.
Strip out the cartridge and make sure that it is set for low pressure.
When it is out give the pipe work a flush out.
This will take two!
If your valve is recessed pack an old poly bag round the valve to divert the water into your Bath / shower tray then turn the hot and cold valves on one at a time and allow the water to flush through for about 15>20 seconds.
The person who is helping you should watch that the water is not going anywhere that is going to do any damage. Also they should watch that theamount of water coming from the hot and cold they should be roughly the same.
If you are removing the cartridge remember it pulls out it does not unscrew, see below for cartridge removal.
Remove the front plate with the two Allen screws the cartridge should just pull out.
If not remove the plug from the body (Opposite side from the hose)you should then be able to get a screwdriver in underneath the cartridge and leaver it forward and out.
You can also remove the two inlet elbows this will allow you to get two screwdrivers in to the rear of the cartridge to lever it forward.
Finally if it is a recessed mounted valve and you can’t get to the plug or inlet elbows.
Remove the front plate with the two Alan screws, then reassemble the knobs loosely you should then be able to fit two screwdrivers in behind the knobs and lever them forward against the valve body.
