Is there a direct replacement for this shower you guys would recommend?

Bristan do a number of showers are suitable replacements for this shower, www.showerdoc.com/showers/mixer-showers/bristan
Some have adjustable elbows that aid with fitting.

Always worth checking but 90% of showers these days have 150mm centers
