Low Flow

Shower has lost it's flow. It starts off ok then slows to a trickle. I've checked the relevant plumbing supply which seems ok. Could it be something in the shower itself. It runs on a gravity fed system and was installed approx 18 years ago.

First disconnect the hose from the valve and try the flow directly from the valve (the inside of the hose can collapse when the hot water gets to it)

Then check that the inlet filters are clean and clear (part of the elbow kit, part 7 on the diagram)

If all of these are OK then you are probably going to need a new cartridge.
