Removing the Pisa plastic shroud behind the hot water/cold water head

With the old surface mounted Pisa, with a dimpled white plastic head and dimpled rotating white plastic body behind, which turns the water off, once the head is removed there is an octagonal nut ( or perhaps hexagonal) underneath which the body behind cannot slide over. Does the octangonal nut undo? I am trying to change the cartridge behind. Is this still available?

I can’t think of a nut..... when the knobs are removed you should see a stainless steel plate with two Alen screws.

This is the link to the cartridge.

If this doesn’t help can you send me a photo of the problem?
