Prism Thermostatic Dual Control Shower Valve (Recessed)

Afternoon, I have said valve above which of course is recessed behind a fully tiled bathroom and shower. Having watched your extremely informative online videos and having punched parts for the shower rail from you previously I think I have an issue with the temperature cartridge. The water mix is no longer as hot as it should be, in fact its pretty tepid! I have had a look at your website for parts, but the only thing that I can see that remotely resembles what I am after seems to be a plastic cartridge, which doesn't seem to correspond to the parts within the existing shower control. Any help or advice would be gratefully received. Kind regards Luke

From your description it definitely sounds like a faulty temp. cartridge.

The problem is the Prism is a range of showers and even within the range, the same shower can have different cartridges.

This is the cartridge and you need first to remove the retaining nut to get the cartridge out.

Good afternoon,

I replaced this cartridge from yourself last year and it would seem that I have the same issue once again.

The original shower unit is over 15 years old from memory and the original cartridge was only replaced with this one last year.

Is it normal that a replacement cartridge would only last this long?

Any advice greatfully received

I suspect that you have the unthreaded cartridge

The only yay to be sure is to remove your cartridge and check it against our image if you are not sure send us a couple images of your existing cartridge.
