This question is regarding Bristan Screw In Brass Thermo Cartridge - 00622415

Is this the correct part?

My Bristan solo has only one temperature even if I turn it to any point on the thermostatic control. Would replacing this part go some way to correcting this problem?

It certainly sounds like you need a new thermostatic cartridge.

Have you removed your existing cartridge and compared it to the one in the photo, I say this because Solo is a range of showers and some have different cartridges.
