Shower switch on/off

I have one of these showers for 18 months which I love. The problem being is that the twist on/off switch has become really, really tight and is becoming impossible to turn off and on. Please can you give me some advise?

Would recommend stripping then unit down , cleaning thoroughly , fitting a seal kit and lubricating with silicon grease . Also check that hot water supply temp is no higher than 60degc.
Seal kit can be ordered online by clicking on the link below.
